Description:
The Writer’s Retreat will provide an opportunity for participants to learn about writing for an international audience while making progress on a writing project of their own. The program will include daily seminars, structured time for working on projects, and opportunities to receive feedback from instructors and other participants.
Why You Should Attend:
There are so many things that stand in the way of finishing a writing project. You may be hesitant because you feel you lack experience. You may spend too much time wondering if what you are writing is “good.” You may simply lack the time during the school term to make significant progress. And you may need people who can cheer you on and remind you of why you are interested in your research topic in the first place. The Summer Writer’s Retreat is designed to help you deal with some of these problems. It combines classroom teaching with the freedom to apply what you learn to your own work in progress, not some arbitrary assignment. The goal is to help you start your fall term with a sense of momentum and accomplishment, having made significant progress on your journey to becoming a published writer.
