Abstract:
Persistent increases in inequality, together with stagnation of living standards for large sections of the population, have fuelled political support for alternatives to capitalist enterprises. In this paper we study the dynamic properties of an economy based on worker cooperatives, and compare them qualitatively and quantitatively with the properties of (standard) economies based on capitalist enterprises.
